Indian Railways reports completing the electrified 17.5 km Taroki-Rowghat section, the final segment of the 95 km Dallirajhara-Rowghat new rail-line project.
The Commissioner of Railway Safety conducted an inspection and speed trial covering the track, bridges, electrification, signalling and operating arrangements. The line is intended to support passenger access and iron-ore transport to Bhilai Steel Plant.
Why it matters
The route could improve access for remote communities while adding a rail link for mineral and agricultural freight in south Chhattisgarh.

The milestone should be followed through commissioning approval, service frequency, passenger use, freight volumes, safety performance and documented local-development effects.
Limitations
Inspection and speed testing are not the same as commercial commissioning. The release provides no opening date, passenger timetable, freight commitment or realised economic impact.
