Delhi agencies coordinate their response to illegal-adoption risks
About 200 health, police and child-protection participants reviewed emerging risks and the authorised child-centred adoption process.
The Central Adoption Resource Authority, Delhi's Women and Child Development Department and the state adoption agency have held a workshop for about 200 institutional and frontline participants.
Representatives from hospitals, police, Child Welfare Committees and district child-protection units reviewed emerging illegal-adoption risks, stakeholder responsibilities and the authorised adoption process. An awareness film on legal adoption was also launched.
Why it matters
Illegal adoption can exploit children and families. Prevention depends on coordinated detection, reporting, referral and lawful case processing across several public institutions.

Awareness is useful, but stronger protection requires clear reporting protocols, trained first responders, case tracking and timely lawful adoption services.
Limitations
The release reports a workshop. It provides no illegal-adoption incidence data, enforcement results, case-resolution times or measured change in frontline practice.
