Delhi reports 584 active lumpy-skin-disease cases as vaccination exceeds 45,950 animals
The department reported no deaths among affected animals and is continuing vaccination, surveillance, isolation and vector-control measures.
The Animal Husbandry Department reported about 584 active lumpy skin disease cases in Delhi on 13 September 2026, mainly among unvaccinated or vulnerable cattle. It said no mortality had been reported among affected animals.
More than 45,950 animals had been vaccinated during 2026, according to the department. The response plan emphasises continued vaccination, surveillance, isolation, vector control, disinfection, biosecurity and coordination on stray cattle.
Why it matters
Animal-disease control affects livestock welfare, urban cattle management and the risk of wider transmission. The case and vaccination counts provide a time-specific operating picture for Delhi's response.
