The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment says Elderline 14567 has received more than 29 lakh calls since its launch in October 2021.

The service operates in 32 states and Union Territories and reported more than 8.67 lakh actionable calls through 21 September 2026. These covered information, guidance, emotional support and field intervention coordinated with local agencies.

Why it matters

The cumulative volume provides an administrative signal of demand for senior-citizen support across welfare, health, legal and abuse-related needs.

SCULTRA point of view

The next transparency step is to publish response times, resolution rates, repeat callers, referral outcomes, geographic coverage gaps and user satisfaction.

Limitations

The figures are cumulative administrative counts. The release does not identify unique callers, successful resolutions, repeat use, service quality or independent verification.
