CRCS-Sahara refund portal restarts with a large claims backlog
The ministry reports Rs 9,267 crore refunded to 41.56 lakh depositors, while about two million claims remain pending.
The Cooperation Ministry has restored the CRCS-Sahara Refund Portal after technology, licensing, staffing and administrative issues affected claims processing.
The ministry says Rs 9,267 crore has been refunded to 41.56 lakh depositors through Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts. Contemporary reporting places the pending pool at about two million claims. Fresh claims and corrections must use the official refund and resubmission portals and remain subject to document and society-record verification.
Why it matters
The portal is the practical route through which eligible cooperative-society depositors seek court-supervised refunds.

Service quality should be tracked through processing time, rejection reasons, payment amounts, pending value, grievance resolution and clear protection against impersonation scams. Applicants should use only the official portals.
Limitations
The cumulative totals do not disclose average payment, claim-value coverage, ageing, error rates or whether the pending count represents claims or unique depositors.
