KVIC disburses ₹289 crore of micro-enterprise subsidy
The PMEGP margin-money support covered 3,366 beneficiaries, while five digital initiatives were also launched.
The Khadi and Village Industries Commission reports disbursing ₹289 crore in margin-money subsidy to 3,366 Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme beneficiaries.
The announcement was made at the opening of Khadi Mahotsav 2026 alongside five digital initiatives intended to support programme delivery and the wider khadi and village-industries ecosystem.
Why it matters
The disbursement is a concrete financing action for micro-enterprises, while digital systems could affect application processing, monitoring and market access.
SCULTRA point of view
The subsidy headline should be followed through to enterprise creation, bank credit, business survival, jobs, regional distribution and additionality, with a clear account of what each digital initiative changes.
Limitations
The release does not provide beneficiary geography, project mix, bank leverage, disbursement date range or outcome measures. Broad sector employment figures should not be attributed to this specific disbursement.
