Vadodara project package completes freight links and starts new infrastructure works
The programme covers more than Rs 35,000 crore of commissioned and foundation-stage rail, road, power, housing and water projects.
Projects valued above Rs 35,000 crore have been inaugurated, dedicated or moved to foundation stage across Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
The reported package includes three Western Dedicated Freight Corridor sections totalling 326 km and costing more than Rs 20,700 crore, three railway projects totalling 329 km and over Rs 9,700 crore, about Rs 1,780 crore of highway works and roughly Rs 2,600 crore of Gujarat projects covering a ring-road phase, a 110 MW floating-solar project, housing and water supply.
Why it matters
Freight connectivity, rail capacity, roads, power, housing and water infrastructure can affect logistics costs, regional access and public-service capacity.
SCULTRA point of view
Commissioned assets should be separated from foundation-stage projects. The operating record should track route readiness, utilisation, travel and logistics savings, procurement, cost variation and delivery dates.
Limitations
The aggregate combines projects at different stages. Claimed future benefits require operational data and project-level verification after commissioning.
