Heavy Industries sets October targets for records, workspace and e-waste cleanup
The ministry has identified 272 sites, more than 51,000 electronic files and 439 e-waste items for a month-long administrative campaign.
The Ministry of Heavy Industries has set preparatory targets for Special Campaign 6.0, scheduled for October 2026.
The ministry identified 272 sites with a stated potential to release 18,22,374 square feet of space. Its plan also covers review of 4,003 physical files, closure of 51,582 electronic files and handling of 439 e-waste items under the E-Waste Management Rules, 2022.
Why it matters
Records control, usable workspace and documented electronic-waste disposal are basic operating disciplines that affect public-sector efficiency, accountability and environmental compliance.

The useful measure will be verified completion: space actually released, records correctly closed, e-waste transferred through authorised channels and recurring controls that prevent the backlog from returning.
Limitations
These are campaign targets, not achieved results. The release gives no e-waste weight, disposal certificates, cost savings, completion evidence or independent verification.
