India-CEPI partnership shifts toward next-generation vaccines and epidemic preparedness
India's vaccine manufacturing base could support research, clinical development and surge capacity, but the next phase has no disclosed project list or funding commitment.
India and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations are entering a new phase focused on next-generation vaccines and global health security, according to the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The ministry said India supplies vaccines to more than 100 countries, represents nearly 60% of global vaccine production and meets more than 65% of World Health Organization routine immunisation requirements. It also put India's 2025 bioeconomy at USD 195.3 billion and the biotechnology startup count at 11,855.
