India and EU examine deeper cooperation in frontier and clean technologies
A European Parliament delegation discussed joint research, clean-industry projects and unresolved conditions for India's possible association with Horizon Europe.
Indian officials and a delegation from the European Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy reviewed opportunities for deeper cooperation in frontier technology, clean industry and research.
The discussion referenced a four-year research programme of about EUR 60 million spanning waste-to-hydrogen systems, marine-pollution monitoring and electric-vehicle battery recycling. The parties also reviewed legal, financial and institutional questions that remain open around India's possible association with Horizon Europe.
Why it matters
Joint research can connect Indian engineering and manufacturing capacity with European funding, test infrastructure and market access in areas where deployment depends on standards and international partnerships.
