INS Mysore joins the fourth India-Malaysia Samudra Laksamana exercise
The bilateral programme in Malaysia combines harbour and sea phases intended to build professional familiarity and naval interoperability.
INS Mysore arrived at Lumut, Malaysia, on 9 September for the fourth bilateral Samudra Laksamana exercise with the Royal Malaysian Navy.
The programme includes harbour and sea phases, cross-deck visits, operational interactions and professional exchanges. The official release places the exercise within the ASEAN-India Year of Maritime Cooperation 2026.
Why it matters
Repeated bilateral exercises can improve interoperability and operational familiarity between navies in a strategically important maritime region.
