India Water Week shifts focus from infrastructure to resilient water services
Technical sessions examined service continuity, rural greywater, water quality, financing and digital decision tools for water and sanitation systems.
The second day of India International Water Week 2026 moved into technical sessions on climate-resilient water management at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The programme covered rural service sustainability, greywater treatment and reuse, water quality, financing and digital decision systems. The concurrent WASH conference presented 25 technical papers across six sessions, while a practitioners' forum reported greywater-management arrangements in about 5.46 lakh villages.
Why it matters
Water security depends on more than new infrastructure. Reliable services require durable sources, working local institutions, safe reuse, affordable operation and information that helps officials identify risks early.
