India expands its WorldSkills entry with 11 first-time disciplines
Nearly 70 competitors are expected to enter 63 skill categories in Shanghai, including aircraft maintenance, software testing and unmanned systems.
India plans to compete in 63 of 64 categories at WorldSkills Shanghai from 22 to 27 September with nearly 70 competitors.
Eleven debut disciplines include aircraft maintenance, dental prosthetics, industrial mechanics, software testing, unmanned aerial systems and intelligent security technology. The official release cites India's rise from 29th place in 2015 to 13th in 2024 and eighth at WorldSkills Asia 2025.

Broader competition coverage can reveal where technical training is aligning with fast-changing industrial and service-sector needs.
