INS Sudarshini reaches Barcelona during its Lokayan 2026 voyage
The sail-training ship will conduct professional, cultural and seamanship exchanges with Spanish maritime counterparts.
The Indian Navy's sail-training ship INS Sudarshini arrived in Barcelona on 1 September as part of the Lokayan 2026 transoceanic expedition.
During the port call, sea trainees are scheduled to join professional, cultural and seamanship exchanges with the Spanish Navy and other maritime stakeholders. The ship is also scheduled to open to visitors on 4 September.
Why it matters
Long-distance training voyages give trainees practical exposure to navigation, endurance and international maritime practice while supporting professional contact between naval and civilian maritime communities.
