INS Trishul completes passage exercise with the Egyptian Navy

The Indian frigate exercised with ENS Bernees after a four-day port call at Alexandria.

By SCULTRA Services Editorial DeskPublished Updated

The Indian Navy guided-missile frigate INS Trishul called at Alexandria from 14 to 17 September and then conducted a passage exercise with Egyptian Navy ship ENS Bernees.

The exercise covered coordinated manoeuvres, communications and approaches for replenishment at sea.

Why it matters

The activity provides a limited but concrete interoperability event within India-Egypt maritime engagement in the Eastern Mediterranean.

SCULTRA point of view

Maritime diplomacy is best assessed through the continuity and complexity of exercises, logistics access, information exchange and follow-on operational cooperation, not a single port visit.

Limitations

The release does not disclose the exercise duration, participating systems, readiness outcomes, future commitments or any change to formal defence arrangements.
