Lothal maritime heritage complex reports 82% completion in its first phase
Phase 1A is working toward a revised 31 October target, with 1,492 artefacts prepared and international partnerships under discussion.
The Ports Ministry says Phase 1A of the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal has reached about 82% physical completion against a revised target of 31 October 2026.
It reports 1,492 artefacts ready for installation, 13 international collaboration agreements and discussions aimed at partnerships with more than 35 countries. Later phases are planned to add further galleries, research facilities and tourism infrastructure.
Why it matters
The project connects heritage conservation with public infrastructure, research, tourism and international cultural cooperation at an archaeologically significant site.
