Meghalaya starts five infrastructure projects worth Rs 1,010.95 crore
The package covers water supply, roads, a healthcare facility and a power substation, while a separate hospital has opened in Nongstoin.
Foundation stones have been laid for five projects in Meghalaya with a reported value of Rs 1,010.95 crore.
The package includes the Rs 850.58 crore New Shillong Water Supply Scheme Phase II Part A, two road projects, a 30-bed AYUSH facility at Shillong Civil Hospital and a 132/33 kV substation at Mawkhanu. A maternity and children's hospital at Nongstoin, reported at Rs 31.05 crore, was inaugurated separately.
Why it matters
Water, roads, healthcare and power infrastructure affect service access and the operating environment for households and businesses across the state.

Each project needs its own delivery record covering procurement, milestones, capacity, cost variation, commissioning and service outcomes. Foundation-stone and inauguration events should remain distinct from operational readiness.
Limitations
Most of the projects are at foundation-stone stage. The release does not provide full completion timelines, tender status or an independent readiness assessment for the inaugurated hospital.
