Mining-district welfare programme reports ₹1.10 lakh crore of sanctioned projects
District Mineral Foundations operate in 656 districts, with more than 2.92 lakh reported project completions under the welfare framework.
A government factsheet reports that District Mineral Foundations have been established in 656 districts across 23 states.
As of July 2026, 4,70,020 projects worth ₹1,09,938 crore had been sanctioned under the PMKKKY framework. It reports 2,92,156 completed projects worth ₹49,973 crore and 78,809 works under execution with ₹30,512 crore committed.
Why it matters
The programme is a large mechanism for returning part of mining revenue to communities facing environmental, health and livelihood costs.
SCULTRA point of view
Project counts and sanctioned value need district-level outcome reporting, community participation, procurement visibility and independent audits that show whether funds measurably improve services.
Limitations
The factsheet does not provide district-level completion quality, beneficiary outcomes, spending against sanctions, delay rates or an independent impact evaluation. Sanctioned and completed values are not directly comparable without project detail.
