Nagpur opens 8.9-kilometre flyover built with UHPFRC technology
The approximately ₹1,000 crore corridor uses longer spans and fewer supports to connect northern and southern Nagpur.
The Indora Chowk-Dighori flyover corridor on National Highway 353D in Nagpur was inaugurated on 19 September. The approximately 8.9-kilometre project was built by NHAI at a reported cost near ₹1,000 crore.
The corridor uses ultra-high-performance fibre-reinforced concrete to permit longer spans and fewer supports. The minister said travel between Indora and Dighori could fall from about one hour to 10 to 15 minutes.
Why it matters
The project is a large urban-mobility intervention and a visible test of an advanced concrete system intended to accelerate construction and reduce structural supports.

The technology claim should be evaluated through independent material testing, lifecycle maintenance, construction cost, post-opening travel times, traffic diversion, safety and performance over monsoon cycles.
Limitations
The travel-time reduction is a ministerial claim and no independent before-and-after traffic study is provided. The release does not disclose final audited cost, structural monitoring data or whether all associated surface works are complete.
