NCR air-quality task force reports 150 inspections and proposed enforcement
The review covered construction sites, industrial units and diesel generators, with closure and sealing actions proposed in multiple cases.
The Commission for Air Quality Management reviewed 150 inspections conducted from 24 August to 7 September 2026. These comprised seven construction and demolition sites, 98 industrial inspections and 45 diesel-generator inspections.
Reported proposed actions include closing three construction projects and one industrial unit, sealing 25 diesel generators, issuing compliance directions and considering environmental compensation in two industrial cases.
Why it matters
Inspection coverage and follow-through are leading indicators of whether air-pollution rules are enforced before severe winter conditions develop across the National Capital Region.

Enforcement should be tracked from inspection through final order, verified remediation and emissions impact, with consistent publication of denominators, repeat violations and reopening criteria.
Limitations
Several actions were proposed rather than final. The release does not provide the total regulated-site population, violation rates by sector, measured emissions, final penalties or evidence that the inspections improved ambient air quality.
