The National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation says it sanctioned and disbursed Rs 3,365.93 crore through channelising agencies from inception to 10 September 2026, covering 6,10,902 people.

Its schemes provide up to Rs 30 lakh for an individual and Rs 75 lakh for a group. Stated interest rates range from 6% to 9%, with repayment periods of three to ten years, a one-point rebate for women and a further 0.5-point rebate for timely repayment.

Why it matters

Affordable capital and viable mechanised livelihoods can improve income security while reducing exposure to unsafe sanitation work.

SCULTRA point of view

Cumulative lending shows reach, but durable impact should be tracked through active borrowers, enterprise survival, income change, safety outcomes and repayment performance.

Limitations

The figures are cumulative administrative claims. The release does not provide annual trends, geographic distribution, loan performance, beneficiary outcomes or an independent evaluation.
