PMAY-U 2.0 adds more than 29,000 urban-home approvals across six states
The latest approvals take reported sanctions under the second phase to 18.77 lakh homes, with most allotted to women.
The Housing Ministry has approved more than 29,000 additional homes under the beneficiary-led construction and affordable-housing partnership routes of PMAY-U 2.0.
The batch covers Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Telangana, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh. The ministry reports 18.77 lakh cumulative sanctions under the second phase, including 17.19 lakh homes allotted to women.

Urban housing approvals affect household security, construction activity, infrastructure demand and lower-income families' access to formal housing.
