NCSC seeks Punjab response to lecturer-reservation complaint
The commission opened an inquiry into an allegation concerning reservation rules in recruitment for 1,013 lecturer posts and requested records within seven days.
The National Commission for Scheduled Castes has opened an inquiry after receiving a representation alleging that reservation rules were not followed in recruitment for 1,013 lecturer posts in Punjab.
The commission asked the Punjab Chief Secretary to provide the facts, action taken, recruitment notice and reservation roster within seven days. It said it could use its civil-court powers if no response is received.

Transparent recruitment and correct application of reservation rules affect constitutional rights, public-service legitimacy and the careers of candidates applying for government posts.
