Source: PIB / Prime Minister's OfficeWhy it matters
The distribution is a large administrative hiring milestone and is relevant to public-sector staffing and service-delivery capacity.
SCULTRA point of view
Appointment-letter totals should be matched with vacancy levels, post categories, joining rates, time-to-fill, regional distribution, retention and changes in frontline capacity.
Limitations
Appointment letters do not by themselves measure net job creation because some posts may fill existing vacancies. The releases do not provide post-level detail, salaries, joining confirmations, attrition or reconciliation with sanctioned vacancies.
