District livelihood models put income outcomes after skills training in focus
Skill Manthan presented three local approaches that connect training for women with production, credit, mentoring and access to markets.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has held the first virtual Skill Manthan session on building sustainable livelihoods for women.
Officials presented a women-centred sports-goods manufacturing model in Meerut, the Vidur Prerna Swadeshi platform for rural entrepreneurs in Bijnor and NTR district's RISE system, which links skills with credit, mentoring, employment and enterprise support. The ministry said the forum will document and share district-led practices.
Why it matters
Training is more likely to produce lasting income when local systems also address finance, production, mentoring and routes to market.

The three models should be compared through consistent measures: participation, completion, credit access, earnings, business survival and the cost of replication.
Limitations
The official release describes the initiatives but provides no comparable baselines, budgets, audited outcomes or national scale-up timetable.
