Before using these figures
- Market definitions differ across publishers and geographies. These are attributed estimates, not a SCULTRA audit or investment recommendation. Do not add overlapping markets together.
- Intermediate years use compound interpolation between published anchors. Source forecasts are not observed results. We do not extend the forecast beyond the displayed horizon or convert currency using an unstated exchange rate.
- For an investment, launch or funding decision, confirm scope, methodology and assumptions through a detailed market study.
How to use the market size and forecast calculator
Explore 28 core markets using a source-linked catalogue, or estimate your own revenue opportunity with the advanced TAM, SAM and SOM calculator. India and Global coverage varies by market; missing or conflicting figures are withheld.
- In simple mode, choose an industry, market and geography. Select an available subsegment, year, growth scenario and display unit.
- Review the market value, model forecast CAGR and annual series alongside the original source, value basis and limitations. Calculated years and segment estimates are labelled separately from published figures.
- Use advanced mode for your own top-down or bottom-up model. Enter researched market values or buyer, adoption and annual-spend assumptions, then set serviceable and attainable shares. Download the CSV or print the result.
When to use this tool
- An initial market-entry discussion using a clearly defined geography and revenue basis.
- A business-plan scenario comparing total, serviceable and attainable market opportunity.
- A forecast sensitivity discussion, without treating lower and higher growth as statistically measured confidence intervals.

Method and limitations
Simple mode uses a curated market catalogue with attributed year values. Intermediate years use geometric interpolation between published anchors; the model CAGR is calculated over the stated forecast period. Segment values use the reported share held constant and are labelled SCULTRA models. Lower/higher growth changes the baseline rate by 2 percentage points, not a confidence interval. A planning assumption is shown explicitly wherever no publisher forecast exists. Advanced mode: bottom-up TAM = potential buyers × annual adoption × annual spend; SAM = TAM × serviceable share; SOM = SAM × attainable share. Top-down starts from your independently sourced market value.
Simple mode is a dated research snapshot, not a live search or an audited market database. Coverage varies by geography and segment; unresolved figures are withheld. Publisher definitions may differ, so India and Global values are not necessarily directly comparable. Source estimates, calculated years and planning assumptions are distinguished. Advanced mode depends on the inputs you enter; SOM does not account for sales capacity unless you reflect it in the attainable share.
Input values are processed in your browser. Project files, CSVs and printed reports contain your entered data. Keep downloaded files private when needed. Page-visit analytics follow your cookie preferences.
Common questions
Where do the market figures come from?
Simple mode uses selected public source figures from our research catalogue and links to the original source. It does not search the web on each selection. Check the source date, scope and value basis shown with the result. Advanced mode uses your own researched inputs.
Why is a market or subsegment unavailable?
We withhold conflicting or incomplete series. Only supported revenue shares appear as segment options. We do not turn a policy target, installed capacity or guessed country share into a market value.
Are segment forecasts published research figures?
The displayed segment values are SCULTRA calculations using a source-reported share held constant. The source's share year is shown. Segments from different dimensions can overlap and should not be added together.
What is the difference between TAM, SAM and SOM?
TAM is the total annual revenue opportunity within your market definition. SAM is the portion you can serve. SOM is the share of SAM you consider attainable. They are nested values, not three amounts to add together.
Can we model a declining market?
In advanced mode, yes. You can enter negative growth rates, down to −100%. Simple mode uses the selected source series; its lower-growth option is a sensitivity, not an independently researched decline forecast.
